Let me introduce you to Duke; a sweet and loving boy. He loves being with his human and loves attention. Did you say Belly Rubs, well he loves them too. :~) He loves being outside so would do great with a family who loves the outdoors. He loves going for walks, hikes and exploring the great outdoors. I think he would also do okay as a jogging partner but I haven’t tested that one out. lol If you are up for exploring he is ready to go and if you want to relax, he is right there with you. He does great with his canine foster siblings. He also has free roam 24/7 with the other pups and has been great. Duke does have a high prey drive so he will require a fenced in yard.
Duke was assessed at the shelter with both dogs and cats and did great with both of them. He is great with my dogs but hasn’t been around cats at my home so he would be tested again to be on the safe side.
Duke was an owner surrender with no reason given as to why his family was throwing him away. :~( He is a sweetheart and I can’t imagine why anyone would want to give him up. He appears to have been an outside dog most of his life. Probably chained which may be why when he first came here he would shut down the minute you’d put a leash on him. But once he learned it was just a walk and not tied to a tree, he quickly learned to love the leash and the walk it would bring.
